The Gossip Girl reboot or Gossip Girl 2021 series is an upcoming sequel of the tv series, Gossip Girl (2007-2012). It is developed by Joshua Safran, the exec producer of the original series. And executively produced by the original series’ co-creators  Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, with Safran. Apart from the crew of the original series, only Kristen Bell is reprising her role of Gossip Girl (voiceover) in the sequel.

The 2007 version starring Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgely, and Ed Westwick was a huge hit among teenagers and adults. Hence, the audience has high expectations from the 2021 version. After witnessing the trailer, it is okay to say that the Gossip Girl sequel brings back the essence of the show. It is filled with scandals, rich kids, Love affairs, and the most important- Gossip Girl blasts.

With new kids, new storyline, the trailer gave us exactly what we wanted- secrets. The trailer was filled with young rich blood as they engaged themselves in alcohol, scandals, affairs, and scheming. And it was definitely what comes to mind after hearing “Gossip Girl.” Kristen Bell narrated in voice over the entire trailer as she gave us a glimpse into the lives of the young faces. The video continues as she says “Thinking you’re in control of your actions, narratives?” But, one thing all of them forget, that Gossip Girl can see you. “And before I’m through, I’ll make sure you see you too.” she continues.

And the trailer ended in the most classic “Gossip Girl” way, with all the characters receiving a blast. We are already excited to see the first Gossip Girl Blast. Although we could not identify if there is going to be a certain Blair or Serena, we surely understood that this time, the group is bigger. The plot, Release Date, and Cast

The Gossip Girl reboot Gen Z version is releasing on July 8, 2021. The show will be available to stream on HBO Max. So, get ready with your subscriptions. Just like the original show, the new series is also based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar. The sequel is set eight years ahead of the parent show. And it will center around the new teen kids of New York, who learn about the social surveillance of the Gossip Girl site. Considering that Gossip Girl went off the server in the series finale of the original, somebody must have designed a new one after being inspired by Dan (Penn Badgely). The upcoming revival will have 10 episodes. Also, we are looking forward to seeing how much social life and technology have changed ever since the parent show was released. Back in 2007, Gossip Girl used to scare everyone on thier flip phones. However, now with iPhones and light rings In the trailer, we expect some modern touch to the show. As for the cast, it stars Jordan Alexander, Julien Calloway, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Evan Mock, Eli Brown, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Zion Moreno, Elizabeth Lali, and Savannah Lee Smith. Reportedly, Lyne Renee has also joined the team. She will portray the role of Brown’s character’s mother. The show is called a reboot, but according to creators, it is a continuation of the original story. Thus, fans are extremely excited to see how the plot will continue after ending in 2012.
