The Reason
The legendary music duo, Daft Punk, called it a quit through an official video released on Youtube. The break-up was announced to the world in a dramatic manner. The Break- Up Video was of eight minutes long duration. It was entitled, “Epilogue” which signifies ‘The End’ or ‘Conclusion’. Scenes of the breakup video were taken from, ‘Electroma’, the duo’s 2006 film. Kathryn Frazier, Daft Punk’s associated publicist confirmed and cleared the fan’s doubt about the split. She shared no other details related to the duo’s breakup. Till now, no official reason for the breakup has been stated yet.
In the “Epilogue”, a glimpse of the robot duo -Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo walking together in a desert is observed. Eventually, one of the Daft Punk members – Bangalter stops, and the other continues walking. After walking for a distance Homem-Christo on noticing Bangalter standing walks back towards him. After a small talk, Thomas Bangalter removes his daft punk jacket. On him stripping down the jacket, a control panel with a timer is noticed attached to his back. Homem-Christo sets the timer and Bangalter walks away in the other direction. The timer count downs to 1 and leads to an explosion. Next, it includes a picture of two robotic hands joined to form a triangle with an enclosed bright light and a time period of 1993-2021. The timestamp represents their prestigious work and togetherness of nearly 3 whole decades. With ‘Touch’, the duo’s song from their last album together – ‘Random Access Memories’, being played in the background, a sunrise clip marks the end of the break-up video.
Daft Punk – Years of Success
Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the two official members of the Daft Punk duo both attended the Lycée Carnot secondary school in Paris. They met in this secondary school in the year 1987. This is what led to their friendship and the formation of Daft Punk years later. Originally, these two formed a group in 1992 named ‘Darling’. After the disposal of Darling, the two formed their duo – Daft Punk. Daft Punk was known for its unique and iconic robotic style and helmets. From 1993 to 2013, Daft Punk has released the best of music and albums. The duo has been a Grammy winner more than 5 times and 12 Grammy nominations. 2013 single, ‘ Get Lucky’, 2013 album ‘Random Access Memories’, the final studio album were the biggest hits of all times, bringing in The Grammy for the duo. The early music contributions “Da Funk” and “Around the World” were a great success and fans’ favorites. 2001 “Discovery”, this album was an overall success with mega hits “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “One More Time”. Daft Punk has always had worldwide fame and love for all their years of work. The duo has been nominated and awarded multiple times for their contributions to the dance music world. In 2007, Kanye West, a popular American Rapper released his version of ‘Stronger’, which was Daft Punk’s original highly admired work. HeartBroken Fans and How
After the break-up news came to light, it was not easy for the Daft Punk fans and followers to digest. The Youtube video and split took everyone by surprise. Their feelings and emotions were reflected through the abundant number of tweets addressing Daft Punk’s breakup. The duo with their nearly 3-decade work was appreciated and loved by fans of different generations.
